Option #1: Port Canaveral/Orlando Hotels with Cruise Shuttles
Your first inexpensive option to go between Orlando and the cruise port is perfect if you plan to stay the night in a hotel before your cruise. Many hotels in the area offer shuttles from the airport to the hotel and then to the cruise port.
In other words, you can fly into Orlando, get your hotel and have your ride to the cruise port also taken care of. It makes things convenient.
A number of hotels both near the Orlando airport and in Port Canaveral offer this perk. You’ll find more options near the airport (these hotels also offer a shuttle from the airport to the hotel).
Most hotels include the shuttle as part of a package, which will cost more than the base room rate. In general, the deals near the Orlando airport seem to be cheaper than hotels in Port Canaveral.
We’ve put the phone number for each hotel so you can contact them for the latest updates on service. If booking a package, you may have to book directly with the hotel.

A number of shuttle companies offer rides from the Orlando airport to Port Canaveral for as little as $36 per person, round trip:

Option #3: One-Way Rental Car (Depends on Dates of Travel)
Renting a car to get to the port seems silly, until you realize that it can be more affordable than shuttle in some cases if traveling with a larger group.
The Cape Canaveral/Cocoa Beach area features several rental car agencies, including Dollar, Avis, Budget, Alamo, and Enterprise. As well, the Orlando area has every car rental company imaginable.
We’ve found some days a one-way car rental from the Orlando area to Cape Canaveral can run under $60 for a day. If traveling with more than two people, that can mean not only would you have more freedom to explore with your own car, but you’d also pay less than booking an independent shuttle. Just keep in mind you’d have to arrange another rental back after your cruise.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to get from Orlando to Port Canaveral?

Coming from somewhere else in the area? Orlando is a sprawling city, and it can take up to 30-45 minutes extra if coming from the west side of town near the theme parks.
What time should I schedule my return flight home?
Given the distance between the airport and cruise port, we’d suggest making your return flight for 1 p.m. or later the day your cruise returns.
Not only does it take 45-60 minutes to get between the airport and cruise port, but we’ve found that Orlando International Airport consistently has slow security lines. Scheduling your flight in the afternoon should give you plenty of time to get off the ship, find your ride, and get through security before your flight departs.
Where do I meet my ride at the airport?
If you are getting a shuttle ride from the airport, you’ll get directions directly from your shuttle company on where to be picked up. Due to laws about who can pick up passengers where at the airport, each provider has a designated area. They will give you directions on where you should go after you pick up your luggage.
