14 Convenient Tampa “Park and Cruise” Hotels

Looking for a way to save to save some serious cash on your Tampa cruise? If you’re driving to the port, then we have just the solution.

Parking at the Port of Tampa can cost a pretty penny. The official port lots are extremely convenient, but cost $15 per day. That means when you get home from a week-long cruise, you have a $105 bill waiting for your parking.

Independent lots near the port help take out some of the sticker shock. We’ve found rates as low as $4-5 per day with some lots. However, there is a way to save even more on your Tampa cruise parking.

There are a number of hotels near the port that cater to cruise passengers. In order to attract your business, they offer up perks such as free parking with a one-night stay or “Park & Cruise” packages that offer discounted parking rates.

To be sure, if you don’t plan to stay in Tampa anyway, then you won’t be saving money by selecting one of these hotels; it’s cheaper just to pay for regular parking. However, Tampa has a lot to explore, especially near the downtown/port area and Ybor City. If you plan to book a hotel for before or after your cruise, then you’ll likely save a chunk of money using one of the hotels below.

Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk Hotel
At this time the Sheraton Riverwalk Hotel doesn’t offer a specific cruise package, but a phone call to the hotel informed us that they offer parking for $16 per day while you sail. They also have a complimentary shuttle to the cruise port when it’s time to head to the ship. Given that official port parking is only $15 per day, you’d actually pay more to park here, even with the free ride to the cruise port.

Fairfield Inn & Suites Tampa Brandon
Brandon is a suburb of Tampa, about 10 miles due east of the port. That’s close to the port, but far enough out that prices are relatively inexpensive. The Fairfield Inn in Brandon has rooms for about $85 during our search, but for slightly more — we saw rates of $120 — you can get the “Cruise Parking” package that includes breakfast and 14 nights parking. The package doesn’t mention transportation to the port.

Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Tampa/Brandon, FL
We found reasonable rates at the Country Inn & Suites for their parking package. A recent search found a price of about $165 for a Saturday night stay with the deal. Included in the rate is your stay in a suite, parking for a week, breakfast, and a ride both to and from the hotel and the cruise ship. Parking at the port for a week runs about $105, so this is a great option to save some cash.

We listed another Courtyard hotel above, but the rate here is hard to beat. Our search for a Saturday night stay in September brought back rates of $109. For that amount, you get the cruise parking package with 14 days of parking with your night’s stay. It doesn’t look like the package includes transportation, however.

  1. You did not mention Port Canaveral with hotel and parking. We will be leaving out of Port Canaveral next year. We are driving down and will be staying the night before our cruise.

Can you suggest some places to stay in Port Canaveral?

    Thanks

  2. These hotels still CHARGE you for parking? Ridiculous. I’ve gone to many hotels where parking and shuttle to and back are included with your stay. This is no deal at all.

  3. We used the Days Inn at I75 and it was clean rooms and good breakfast with shuttle to and from (free) and unlimited days of parking (free).
