When it comes to budgeting for a cruise, everyone keeps in mind the cost of the cruise itself. But most people (especially first-time cruisers) don’t realize that parking can be a huge expense as well.
The Port of Miami’s official parking costs a staggering $22 per day. That’s more than $150 for a 7-day cruise. While some nearby independent lots charge significantly less, the price still adds up over the course of a week.
The good news is that you don’t have to shell out this money. A little-known tip is that many hotels in the area cater to cruisers. If you stay at least one night with them, they offer free or discounted parking during your cruise. If you’re not planning to stay in a hotel, then buying a room simply for the parking isn’t likely worth it. But if you planned on staying in the area anyway, be sure to ask about parking during your cruise.
With so many hotels in the Miami area, the list below isn’t meant to showcase every hotel that offers cruise parking. If there is a particular hotel you’d like to stay, chances are good they can accommodate your car during the cruise.
