Carnival Rolls Out 50th Anniversary Collection to Buy Online

If you’re a Carnival fan but missed the cruise line’s 50th anniversary celebrations, you can still get a memento of the historic event.

Carnival announced that it will be offering its “50th Birthday Retail Collection” online, allowing anyone a chance to show their fandom for the Funships.

“When we created the 50th Birthday retail collection, we were confident our guests would love the new and elevated styles, but the positive response has been absolutely overwhelming. Items we planned to sell over the course of weeks sold out in a day,” said Jeremy Schiller, the vice president of retail operations for Carnival. “The expanded offerings now available in our online retail shop are a celebration of this success and an opportunity for our guests to still purchase the items they love while on land.”

Items were available for sale on ships as part of Carnival’s recent “Sailabration” cruises that marked 50 years of cruising for the company. However, not everyone was able to board one of these cruises. Now, the cruise line is giving everyone a chance to purchase part of the collection.

The featured items include everything from mugs to towels to 50th birthday pins. Right now there are already a number of items for sale on the Carnival website. There will also be more items added in the coming weeks.

These keepsakes include a Carnival Celebration ship 3-D model made of K9 crystal, complete with a hand painted funnel (currently for sale; $109.99).

There will also be a “Piece of History” lapel pin and keychain set for sale that’s made from the original handrails of Mardi Gras, Carnival’s first ship and the naming inspiration for its current (and much larger) version of the ship. No word yet on the pricing of the lapel pin and keychain as it’s not for sale just yet. Given its uniqueness, expect it to be a fast seller.

Other items coming up for sale include a singing funnel hat and a special edition 50th anniversary Carnival Monopoly set.

The exact timing of when items will come up for sale on the Carnival website isn’t clear, but the cruise line says they will only be available for a limited time. Given the likely strong demand for some of the most popular items, if there’s anything you have your eye on, it’s a good idea to check back to the online shop regularly.

In fact, a quick search shows that one pin featuring five ships from different eras is already sold out… despite not even shipping for weeks.
