If you go on a Caribbean cruise, it’s well known that the alcohol is free-flowing. Bars are everywhere, tropical drinks are served up, and there are even packages you can buy that allow you to drink you fill without worrying about the bill afterward.
But not everyone drinks alcohol. Or they don’t drink enough to justify buying an entire drink package.
Now Carnival is adding a new wrinkle to its lineup of drink packages, and it’s perfect for those that want to enjoy all sorts of beverages on the ship without worrying about the bill… but they also don’t care much about alcohol.
Carnival Unveils the New CHEERS! Zero Proof Package
The cruise line announced the introduction of its new CHEERS! Zero Proof package. This package allows passengers to get their fill of nearly non-alcoholic drink on the ship, just like they would with the traditional CHEERS! drink package, just without the cocktails, beer, and wine.
Included with the new offer are sodas, juices, bottled water, coffees, teas, zero-proof cocktails, non-alcoholic beer and wine, non-alcoholic frozen drinks, smoothies, milkshakes, and energy drinks.
So if you’re someone that loves a coffee in the morning, juice with breakfast a bottle of water during the day, an energy drink as a pick-me-up, and frozen drinks by the pool, it’s perfect for you. It’s also a great way for non-drinkers to feel like they are part of the fun without having to consume (or pay for!) alcohol.
Previously, non-drinkers’ only option is Carnival’s Bottomless Bubbles package, which offers unlimited soda. However, frozen drinks, zero-proof cocktails, milkshakes and the like aren’t included with Bottomless Bubbles. Now people that enjoy those sorts of drinks have their own option.
“CHEERS! Zero Proof is a direct response to what we’ve heard from our guests who want a comprehensive non-alcoholic drink package when they cruise,” said Christine Duffy, Carnival Cruise Line President. “It’s a perfect fit for guests interested in an alternative to our traditional CHEERS! package with additional variety compared to our Bottomless Bubbles soda package.”
Passengers who opt for the package will save considerably over the traditional drink package. The alcoholic CHEERS! Package starts at $69.95 per day plus an 18% gratuity, totaling $82.54 per person, per day. (There is a $5 per day increase if bought onboard.)
The CHEERS! Zero Proof package is priced at $29.99 per day, with an 18% gratuity, for a total of $35.39 per person, per day. Like other drink packages, it is purchased for the length of the cruise, not just individual days.
Carnival says that the new package is available for purchase before the cruise and will be available to buy on the ship in the coming weeks.
