With a tagline that calls on cruise passengers to “Experience the world, naturally,” Bare Necessities gives a hint of its appeal. The company operates nude cruises, with the biggest and most well-known being its annual “Big Nude Boat.”
The 2027 Big Nude Boat sails on Norwegian Jewel. During that 11-day cruise, passengers will depart Miami for Great Stirrup Cay, San Juan, Tortola, St. Kitts and Antigua. And while on the ship at least, clothing is completely optional. Clothing is required in dining rooms, but apart from that, you’re allowed to be nude while at sea. (The cruise line does require passengers to sit on towels whenever seated.)
In addition to the Big Nude Boat, the company also offers other nudist cruises. And while these sailings are definitely adult, don’t mistake them for being hedonistic. For instance, Bare Necessities states clearly that their cruises “are strictly non-sexual in nature.” They go on to say “If you are seeking a lifestyle/swinger cruise, we are not the right product for you.”

If you’re wanting adult fun and an adults-only atmosphere, Temptation Cruises may be just the thing. This charter cruise has gone on for years and offer trips aboard Norwegian Cruise Line ships.
On its website, Temptation Cruises describes its trips as “built for bold adults seeking non-stop fun, shameless moments, and a cruise that breaks all the rules. You’re not here for ordinary and we’re not here to play it safe.”
First, there are “au naturel” spaces on the ship for those that want to go completely nude or just wear something a bit more revealing. There are sexually-focused workshops for passengers. First, Bliss Cruises puts on several different trips each year. There are three in 2027 alone. But they also have them on some of the biggest ships on the planet. Its next cruise is aboard Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas, which can hold up to 7,000 passengers.
Onboard, it can be a hedonistic paradise.
First, it’s always adults only and couples only. You must be at least 21 years old to sail. There are the staples like clothing optional decks and pools, seminars focused on sexual topics, theme nights, risque entertainment, and multiple “play areas” for passengers wanting to let loose with others.
When you sail, you even get color coded necklaces that let others know what you’re into. The colors range from white (no participation, just watching) to red (interested in kinks/fetishes) and other colors in between.
In other words, if you and your significant other want to have a fun time… possibly making new friends in the process… then a Bliss Cruise might be for you.

Let’s be clear, unlike the nudist and sexual-themed cruises mentioned above, Virgin Voyages is modest by comparison. Still, if you want to have an adult and sexy time, it’s by far your best option among traditional cruise lines.
Remember, the companies above charter cruise ships and then put on their own themed cruises once or twice per year. Virgin Voyages is a full-fledged cruise line with its own ships, constant sailings, and trips all over the world.
The cruise line is famously adults-only and that means everything from the food to the entertainment can be geared more to adult tastes. Onboard, there are no “playrooms” but it definitely has a more sexy atmosphere with style and decor — such as the famous signature red color everywhere. Evening entertainment is a bit more sexual (such as the evening drag performance) than what you find on other lines. And Virgin even has a spot where passengers can sunbathe topless if they like.
Again, no one would mistake a Virgin cruise for some of the trips listed above. But if you want an adult atmosphere from a mainline cruise company, it’s a great option.
