San Diego Cruise Parking (Where to Park): Prices & Profiles

We’ll be honest… we’re not sure why people would cruise from San Diego. In our travels, it’s a place we always look forward going to, not departing from.

San Diego’s port doesn’t offer official parking like most other departure points. However, there is plenty of parking nearby.

Nevertheless, cruising from San Diego is popular and growing. Cruise lines ranging from Disney to Holland America to Princess all offer cruises from the port, which several other lines visiting as a port of call.

If you’re sailing from San Diego, then there is a good chance you live in the area. More than 20 million live in Southern California, and for these folks they will be driving to the cruise port. That begs the question of where do you park once you get there?

San Diego Cruise Parking Options

Most cruise ports make parking extremely simple. You show up at the terminal and there is parking provided at the port. San Diego is a bit different in that it doesn’t provide port parking. However, there are options close by for parking:

San Diego Cruise Ship & Airport Parking (Wyndham San Diego Bayside)
This lot is located right across the street from the cruise terminal, in a parking garage that’s adjacent to the Wyndham San Diego Bayside hotel. Rates some of the higher you’ll find, in line with the convenience of being so close, costing $30 per day. Reservations are recommended. A free shuttle to the port (even though it’s a short walk) is provided.

Ace Parking
Ace offers up several parking options, which vary in price depending on the lot and whether you want self-parking or valet parking.

The cheapest lot offered is at 501 West Broadway, which is about a third of mile (10 minute walk) from the cruise piers in San Diego. That rate runs $15 per day, or $120 for a weeklong cruise.

The closest lot offered is literally across the street from the cruise ports at The BRIC, which is a development with hotels, parking, restaurants, and more. Here, parking is $25 per day, or $200 for a weeklong cruise.

In addition, Ace offers a number of other options, all the way up to valet parking that runs $40 per day. Note that for these lots you’ll need to walk to the ship as there is no shuttle provided.

San Diego’s Park, Shuttle, and Fly
As you might guess by the name, this parking lot is at the airport, but they also serve as a cruise parking lot as well.

The San Diego airport is actually a short distance from the cruise port. So this lot is only about 1.5 miles from the ship.

Meanwhile, they offer parking for an $18.95 daily rate when using the coupon found on their website. In addition, there is a free shuttle to the cruise port.

Given the shuttle, the lot suggests that larger groups drop off people and luggage at the cruise terminal and then go park. This way, there is more space on the shuttle to allow for faster trips between the lot and the port.

Aladdin Airport & Cruise Ship Parking
Another parking lot near the airport that’s branched into cruise parking, Aladdin offers a decent rate, relatively short distance to the port and a shuttle to get you there.

They offer a parking garage and a rate of $23 per day if parking inside the garage or a rate of $21 per day if parking on the roof. Valet parking is available for a higher fee. If you like, they also offer wash and detail services for your vehicle while you’re away.

When it’s time to head to the port, you’re less than a mile away and the shuttles can get you there quickly. They even offer the ability to track shuttles so you can see exactly where they are when you park.
