In a scene that no cruise passenger (or cruise line!) wants to see happen to them, a video making the rounds online shows a cabin that’s being completely flooded with water pouring in through the ceiling.
The video’s view from the cabin doorway shows the entire floor covered under at least an inch or two of water while tons more comes rushing down though the light fixtures in the ceiling. The floor, couch, bed, and everything else are drenched. Meanwhile in the hallway, passengers appear bewildered at the scene. We must say that opening your cabin door to see this would be surreal.

According to the post, the video was taken aboard a Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas. The poster said that it happened on a cruise departing July 25 from Fort Lauderdale.
While we can’t confirm when or where the video was taken (or these days even if it’s not AI generated!), the decor is consistent with a Royal Caribbean ship. As well, Allure of the Seas is on a cruise from Fort Lauderdale that left on July 25. That cruise is taking passengers on a 7-day trip to St. Kitts, St. Maarten, St. Thomas, and CocoCay, according to CruiseMapper.com.
Allure of the Seas began sailing in late 2010 and was refurbished in April 2025, just over a year ago. At full capacity, the ship can hold nearly 7,000 passengers across its nearly 1,200′ length.
Many commenters on the Reddit post poked fun at the scene, including several joking that these passengers got an extra “rainfall showers” feature in their cabin. Another teased “Bright side: You get a waterbed!”
Given the short video, there’s no telling exactly what happened to cause the water to flood in. Nor do we know if other rooms were impacted. Cruise ships are complex machines with electrical, ventilation, and plumbing lines running across the ship to thousands of cabins. So it’s possible that a pipe broke above this cabin, dumping in the water.
No matter the reason, assuming it’s not AI-generated, this video is certainly one that will get any cruise passenger’s attention… and give them something to think about the next time they lay down to sleep on the cruise. This would be a rude awakening!
