Most Expensive Cruise Ever? This Cruise Costs $302,000 Per Person (And There’s a Waitlist!)

A cruise that costs as much as a house? A trip that is as expensive as a new Ferrari? While some people may scoff at the price of a cruise that would cost upwards of a half-million dollars for two people, this trip of a lifetime is in high demand.

Silversea — a high-end luxury line — offers a 149-day world cruise departing next year. When writing this article, the price of the trip showed $302,000 per person, before being waitlisted.

In fact, one reason that the price tag is so expensive is because the only cabin left appears to be the best room on the ship. Even so, this marks the most expensive cruise we’ve ever seen and possibly the most expensive sailing ever.

Here are all the details…

A 149-Day Trip of a Lifetime

When it comes to cruises, the biggest impacts on what you’ll pay are the itinerary, the cruise line itself, and the room you choose.

This trip is the trifecta for creating a pricey sailing.

First, as you might expect, this is the cruise of a lifetime with an itinerary to match. While the price tag soars to hundreds of thousands per person, in return you’re getting a 149-day cruise aboard luxury line Silversea.

The cruise, departing on January 8, 2027 lasting until June 7, 2027 is so epic that it even has its own name, “The Three Oceans.”

As you might expect, the route takes you through three different oceans, as it departs Los Angeles, California enroute to Copenhagen, Denmark. The journey takes you through the Pacific, Indian, and Atlantic.

Departing California, you’ll first sail to Hawaii, stopping at multiple ports in the islands before dotting around spots in the South Pacific. Exotic ports like Bora Bora, Rarotonga, and Papeete are included. From there, you’ll island-hop all the way to Australia, followed by spots like Singapore, Sri Lanka, and the Seychelles.

South Africa is next on the list before sailing up the west coast of Africa with more than a dozen stops on the continent before reaching Europe via Spain. The last leg of the trip includes stops in Spain, Portugal, France, England, Ireland, and multiple Norwegian ports before finishing in Copenhagen.

Now this cruise doesn’t take you literally around the world and there are a few regions missing, including much of east Asia, South America, and the Caribbean. Still, for someone that wants to see parts of the planet that would take years to explore any other way, this route is ideal.

And it’s done from the comfort of one of the most luxurious lines on the planet.

Sailing Aboard an Ultra-Luxury Cruise Line

Silversea is what we call an ultra-luxury line. If you’re picturing mega ships with six thousand passengers, waterslides, and people forming conga lines, this isn’t it.

The ships are much smaller and focus on high-end service. They boast a crew to passenger ratio of nearly 1:1. In fact, you don’t even have to unpack your suitcase if you don’t want… an onboard butler will do it for you.

The largest ship in the fleet carries just 728 passengers. This cruise is aboard the Silver Dawn, which carries only 596 passengers. There’s the luxurious pool, spa, library, Observation Lounge, and fine dining across the ship.

In essence, instead of sailing aboard a typical cruise ship, it may feel more like cruising in a large yacht.

There are no slouches when it comes to the cabin options either. There are no interior rooms, instead every cabin has its own balcony and is considered a “suite.”

Select the Three Oceans worldwide cruise and you’d get all sorts of perks as well. The fare includes business-class airfare, shore excursion credit, up to $2,000 per room in onboard spending, wi-fi, laundry, medical service, and an included spa treatment.

And because Silversea is all-inclusive, butler service is included in every suite. All beverages — alcoholic and non-alcoholic — are included with your fare, even the mini-bar is included. All food and crew gratuities are also included, so you don’t even have to worry about these normally extra charges.

$302,000 Per Person… But There’s a Waitlist!

When we first found this cruise, the Owner’s Suite was the only room available across the ship according to the Silversea website, with a starting price of $302,000 per person. Since then, it’s been waitlisted!

We doubt anyone would shun a world cruise to some of the most exotic ports on the planet while enjoying the lap of luxury with all the bells and whistles.

There’s just the matter of the cost.

This cruise would never be “cheap” given the itinerary and the cruise line. But the price tag is staggering, with it starting at $302,000 per guest. That could register more than $600,000 for a couple sailing together.

The reason for the high price tag is that during our initial search, the only room available was the Owner’s Suite. This cabin features roughly 950-1,050 square feet (depending on the specific stateroom layout).

Think that price is out of reach? In the time we were putting this article together, that room went from being available to showing as waitlist only! So it looks like someone booked the room recently.

If $302,000 per person is too rich for you, you can also look to the 2028 world cruise being offered by Silversea. This trip sails from Miami to Nice, France via the Caribbean, South America, Africa, and the Middle East, wrapping up with a jaunt through the Mediterranean.

Despite not departing for almost two years, most rooms on that trip are already waitlisted (including the lowest-end suites on the ship), but there is a Superior Veranda Suite available starting at a more palatable $109,000 per person price tag.
