How to Set Up A Carnival Airport Transfer Online

If you are flying in for a cruise, then that means you also have to arrange transportation to the cruise port.

There are any number of ways to get there, from rideshare services like Uber or Lyft to taxi to private shuttles. But many people opt for airport transfers arranged by the cruise line.

In general, we actually recommend other ways to get to the port. Cruise line transfers can get expensive as they normally charge a per person rate. For example, a one-way ride from Houston Intercontinental to the Galveston cruise port runs $47 per person. So a family of four needing round-trip transportation would spend nearly $400 round-trip just getting between the airport and cruise terminal.

Taxis and rideshare companies charge by the car, which dramatically cut the price of getting to the cruise port.

As well, cruise line shuttles are inflexible. They offer rides only on the day of embarkation and debarkation, and only between the airport and cruise port. If you wanted to come in the day before your cruise or wanted to make a stop on the way to the port, you’d be out of luck.

There is one positive of using cruise line transportation, however. You know that you won’t miss the ship. If you are booked on a cruise line transfer, then if something happens on the way to the ship, they will hold the ship for you — assuming that’s reasonable given the circumstances.

As well, many people like the convenience of booking their ride earlier and not having to figure it out come cruise day.
