Tampa is so much more than a cruise port. From amusement parks to casino gambling to aquariums, to beautiful beaches, there’s a wide variety of things to do in the area. It’s no wonder that many people choose to spend a day (or several) in the Tampa area before their cruise.
Of course, if you decide to stay at a Tampa hotel then there is the question of actually getting to the port. Tampa has a number of options for getting around, including taxis and Uber/Lyft. However, these options can all cost you money. And depending on how far you are from the port, it can be a considerable amount to get to the port.
Instead, many people opt for cruise hotels that offer shuttles or other transportation to the port, which is almost always cheaper and more convenient. That’s why we’ve rounded up a number of hotels in the area that offer these services. While this isn’t meant to be an exhaustive list, it should give you a good start on those hotels that can offer transport to your cruise ship.

Tampa Hotels with Shuttles to the Cruise Port
While taking a trolley to your cruise is a memorable and unique experience, it’s usually cheaper to stay in hotels that are a little farther from the port. The good news is that many hotels cater to cruise passengers and offer shuttle services as a perk.
Quality Inn Airport/Cruise Port |Price: $79
This hotel is about a 15 minute drive to the cruise port and a 15 minute drive to the airport. The best news? It offers transportation to both. In addition, if you are driving to the port it also offers parking packages. The hotel also offers breakfast, a business center (for printing last minute documents), and fitness center.
Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk | Price: $256
The Sheraton is actually one of the few hotels located in downtown with shuttle service to the port. So you can still take public transportation if you like, but the quick shuttle service is a no-brainer. Located right on the river, the Sheraton is an upscale hotel with nice views of both downtown and the river.
Holiday Inn Express Rocky Point | Price: $115
With this hotel you’ll be staying about 10 miles from the port, but you can still get a shuttle provided for transportation on cruise day. With the hotel’s “Tampa Cruise Package” you can get a room for a night with shuttle to and from the cruise port included. As well, discounted parking is also available if interested.
Hampton Inn Rocky Point | Price: $109
Near the Holiday Inn Express mentioned above and about 10 miles from the port, the Hampton Inn offers simple and comfy accommodations and free local area transportation to its guests. There are also parking packages available to cruisers if you are driving in and don’t want to pay higher prices at the port.
La Quinta Inn Tampa Bay Airport | Price: $89
As the name suggests, this hotel is right near the Tampa Bay Airport. La Quinta is about 6.5 miles from the cruise terminals, and offers daily shuttle service to the port. Rates start at $89 per night, but expect to pay more for weekend stays or during peak season. The hotel is also across the street from a mall if you need to do any last-minute shopping.
Holiday Inn Tampa Westshore – Airport Area | Price: $167
Less than 6 miles from the cruise port, Holiday Inn is a quick drive from the cruise port. The hotel offers several “park and stay” packages that include shuttle transportation to the port. If you don’t need the parking, we suggest not booking the package (which is more expensive) but simply asking for a ride to the cruise port when you check in. It might cost a few dollars but is convenient to get to the terminal.
